1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Fisk Voting System ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the Platform.

These terms apply to all students, faculty, staff, and administrators at Fisk University who access the Platform for any purpose, including voting, viewing election results, or managing elections.

We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

2. Eligibility

To use the Platform, you must be a currently enrolled student, faculty member, or staff member at Fisk University with a valid university email address.

You must be at least 18 years of age or the age of majority in your jurisdiction to use this Platform.

Your eligibility to vote in specific elections is determined by your student status, class year, major, organization membership, or other criteria set by election administrators.

3. Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. Do not share your login information with anyone.

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information to keep it accurate.

You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or engage in fraudulent activity.

4. Voting Rules & Conduct

Each eligible voter is entitled to one vote per position in each election. Attempting to vote multiple times or manipulate the voting process is strictly prohibited.

Votes are final once submitted. You cannot change or retract your vote after confirmation.

You may not coerce, intimidate, or unduly influence other voters. Vote buying, selling, or trading is prohibited.

Any attempt to hack, disrupt, or interfere with the Platform's operation is a violation of these terms and may result in disciplinary action.

5. User Content & Conduct

You agree not to post or transmit any content that is defamatory, obscene, hateful, or otherwise objectionable through the Platform.

Campaign materials and candidate profiles must comply with Fisk University's student conduct policies and election guidelines.

We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these terms or applicable laws without prior notice.

6. Intellectual Property

All content, designs, trademarks, logos, and software associated with the Platform are the property of Fisk University and the Fisk Voting System.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Platform without express written permission.

User-generated content (such as candidate bios) remains the property of the user, but you grant us a non-exclusive license to display it on the Platform.

7. Disclaimers & Limitations

The Platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of the Platform, though we strive for 99.9% uptime during election periods.

Our total liability for any claims arising from your use of the Platform is limited to the amount you paid to use the Platform (if any).

We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at any time for violation of these terms, fraudulent activity, or other conduct harmful to the Platform or its users.

Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.

You may request account deletion at any time through your account settings. We will process your request in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the Platform shall be resolved through Fisk University's internal dispute resolution processes before pursuing external legal remedies.
